Exotic and colourful planting themes.

Many of  the planting schemes in parts of the sunnier and warmer areas of the garden, and particularly within the Gothic Folly area were inspired by the artistry of the late Christopher Lloyd, and his innovative garden at Great Dixter.

Grenville’s  background in the creative arts has easily translated into the use of exciting and visually inspiring and vibrant plant colour themes within the garden. Grenville calls this ‘Painting with plants.’ Clipped box, Lilies, Lobelia, Dahlias, Lavender, Cannas, Grasses and giant ornamental Archichokes have been added to the planting palette. All of the plants within the garden are growing in very large terracotta pots, urns and containers, and exhibit the horticultural principles of colour, pattern, texture and form.
